Calathea Vitata
Calathea Vitata also known as Prayer Plant, because of its unique feature of opening and closing its leaves when day transitions to night, are native to Southern America including Brazil, Bolivar, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela, Colombia and Thailand. Vittata has moderate growth rate and grows as tall as 60cm. These generally prefer shade but grow much better in indirect sunlight. The upper surface of leaves is medium green and attractively marked with white stripes running parallel to the lateral veins giving it a hand painted look.
